Youth Group

Wednesday @ 6:30

Church Fellowship Hall

What’s it all about?

Youth Group is a place for area teens to come and grow closer to the Lord and one another.

Based on interviews with 22,000 adults and over 2,000 teenagers in 25 separate surveys, Barna unquestionably quantified the seriousness of the situation: six out of ten 20-somethings who were involved in a church during their teen years are already gone. Despite strong levels of spiritual activity during the teen years, most 20-somethings disengage from active participation in the Christian faith during their adult years— and often beyond that.
— Ken Ham and Britt Beemer, Already Gone

Our goal is that every teen knows why they believe what they believe. We believe the best way to accomplish this goal is true discipleship. Discipleship is where the scripture intersects life. Throughout our time together we are very open to discussion because we want them to feel comfortable asking whatever questions they have so that they can know why they believe what they believe.

It is important to us when teenagers leave this group and head to college, work, or armed forces that they continue to have an active relationship with Jesus Christ spending time in His Word, in prayer, and with fellow believers. When confronted by opposing views we pray they rely on a solid foundation of the the Word of God.

What we’re studying now

We’re currently reading through the book of Hebrews beginning to end.

Youth Group Events

Youth Group

Wednesday 6:30pm

We meet at 6:30 every Wednesday night. we spend the first part of the evening playing a game or just spending time hanging out. around 7:15 we begin our time of worship singing songs of praise about God to God. We then transition to a time in the Word of God as we study through allowing time for everyone to ask the questions or comments they have on their mind about what we are studying.

Last year we raised money to buy these soccer balls, net balls, and bag for African orphans and vulnerable children that missionaries David and Karin Brown minister to in South Africa.

Missionary Focus

2nd Wednesday of the Month

We take time every month to focus on a Missionary that we support. We want, as a Youth Group, to know our missionaries better. We want to know more about their ministry (the challenges they face, the people they minister to, and how we can better support them). In the past we have had missionaries come to present or one of the teens will spend an evening letting us know about a Missionary.
